Ronnie O'Sullivan is set to begin his Coral UK Championship campaign on Thursday despite suffering a nasty ankle injury.
O'Sullivan twisted his ankle while out running in Essex this week and conceded he will not be fully fit when he takes on Daniel Wells in the opening round of the York tournament.
'The Rocket' is targeting a fifth UK title, having last won it in 2007 by beating Stephen Maguire in the final.
The 38-year-old posted a picture on Twitter of him resting up his left ankle, which was severely swollen, adding the note: "Might be one legged Snooker at the #UKChampionship on Thursday."
Play in York started on Tuesday with Peter Ebdon, Anthony Hamilton and Stuart Bingham among the first round winners.
