Stuart Bingham: Englishman went down 6-4 against Aditya Mehta
The in-form Stuart Bingham was another big-name casualty in the first-round of the International Championships in Chengdu.
The world No 10 from Basildon finished runner-up in the Wuxi Classic and Australian Open already this season and won his two latest Premier League matches 12-0 on aggregate ahead of the flight to China. However, Bingham was sent packing by Aditya Mehta, in the little-known Indian's first ranking event, 6-4 - the 26-year-old booking a second-round meeting against Judd Trump. The world No 2 looked in good touch as he beat Fergal O'Brien 6-3, with a 118 the highlight, while fourth seed Mark Williams joined Bingham in going home early after being impressively beaten by Mark Davis 6-4.Davis, from St Leonards, sealed an impressive success in style with a clearing 138 and the six-red world champion told worldsnooker.com: "I played really well, although I made a few silly mistakes."Mark is a legend of the game but he was not at his best today. It's a long season and you can't play well in every event."Elsewhere, Stephen Maguire won his all-Scottish clash with Jamie Burnett 6-3, and Northern Ireland's Mark Allen saw off Robert Milkins 6-2 to set up a match with China's Cao Yupeng.Read more https://www1.skysports.com/snooker/news/12243/8213220/
