The event that we have all been looking for is finally here. The “Herzschlag Special Olympics” in my hometown Klagenfurt/Austria. These are the 6th national summer games from special olympics. 2150 athletes and trainers are travelling to Klagenfurt/Kaernten for this event and they are competing in 17 single and team sports. Especially the opening ceremony was an emotional moment for everybody. I had the honour to be the ambassador of the Special Olympics and together with athlete Alexander Radin we lit the olympic fire on stage in front of 4000 people while a choir was singing “adiemus”.

“It was just amazing to be a part of all this. To be on stage with Alexander and light the fire was amazing.”
