Corr Crushes Turning Stone Opponents

Karen “The Irish Invader” Corr remains the only lady at the Turning Stone Classic XX billiards event without a loss, having won her first three matches to reach the final 16 on the winners’ side. She bested Bruce Carroll in the first round 9-6, Jon James Jr. 9-4, and Bill Cote 9-7 in the third round. Her next opponent will be Ivaylo Petrov, who just sent Dale Kimmett to the one-loss side 9-7.
Dennis Hatch suffered his first loss to fellow Mosconi Cup teammate Johnny Archer, who will play Ron Casanzio, who just bested Adam Kielar 9-6, in the fourth round. Shaun “Get Some” Wilkie only allowed Kyle Richard one rack in their race to 9 and will go on to face former world champion Ronnie Alcano, who just defeated Matt Krah 9-3. Alcano’s countryman Warren Kiamco will have to play Florida’s Hunter Lombardo, who dealt Steve Mack a 9-3 defeat.
Jonathan Demet eked out a hill-hill victory over Los Angeles’ Corey Harper to face Tom McGonagle in the next round. Former world 9-ball champ Thorsten Hohmann bested Mario Morra 9-4 and will next play Matt Tetreault, who defeated Cleiton Rocha 9-5 in the third round.
Oscar “The Big O” Dominguez survived a double-hill match with former U.S. Open champion Corey Deuel to advance 9-8. His next challenge will come from Jayson Shaw, who whitewashed Randall Truscott in the third round.

Player of the Year Shane Van Boening is still going strong, having routed Robb Saez 9-2. In the next round he will play defending champion Mike Dechaine, who bested Jeremy Sossei 9-6 in the previous round.
