Neil Robertson: excited to compete on home soil
July's Australian Goldfields Open held at the Bendigo stadium is set to provide a thrilling clash of snooker titans.
The prestigious world ranking tournament will host Victoria's own Neil Robertson as well as reigning champion Stuart Bingham.A former world number one, the 29-year-old Robertson is the only Australian to have won a ranking event, with an impressive six titles to his name.Robertson is excited to compete at the Australian tournament, saying: "The atmosphere for last year's Australian Goldfields Open final was one of the best I have ever witnessed and I am really looking forward to the 2012 event."I would urge everyone to get their ticket booked straight away because you can't beat watching snooker live."Reigning championCurrent champion Stuart Bingham, who came back from 8-5 down to beat Mark Williams 9-8 in last year's final, has also highlighted the event on his calendar."I am thrilled we are going back to the same venue in July.
