Tatiana Vasiljeva declared Joe Perry the ‘best partner ever’ as the duo completed a hat-trick of World Mixed Pairs titles at the Cambridge Snooker Centre.
The event, which has become the curtain-raiser at the Women’s World Snooker Championships, attracted 8 pairs this year and the defending champions put on a good display with victories over Fran Calvert and Aidan Owens, 3-1 in the quarter finals, they then back this up with a 3-0 win over Natascha Niermann and Will Scott in the semi finals before coming up against Emma Bonney and Nigel Ward.
The final was again one way traffic as Perry and Vasiljeva completed their second whitewash in a row with another 3-0 victory.
Speaking after the final, Latvia’s number one, Vasiljeva, said, “Joe played a great game, so he is really ready to play in Sheffield next week.”
In turns out she wasn’t wrong as Perry went on to defeat Graeme Dott in the first round at the Crucible.
