World Cup of PoolWith 2012 PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool set for 4-9 September at Robinson’s Place in Manila, Matchroom Sport can announce the initial 13 European nations invited to take part in the $250,000 event.

Taken using the Euro Tour rankings after the recent Italian Open in Treviso, they are;

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, England, Finland, Germany, Holland, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden & Switzerland.

The two representatives from each of the 13 nations will be determined predominantly using the Matchroom Sport Mosconi Cup Rankings following the Austrian Open in early June. Players will also have the World 9 Ball Championship in Qatar in which to add to their current points tally.

The World Cup of Pool will be aired live in the Philippines on Solar Sports from September 4 to 9. Matchroom Sport will also produce 31 x one-hour highlights programmes, which will be broadcast around the world.

For those teams not selected there will be a qualifying event for two spots held on Sunday 3rd June at the Billiard Club Ballazzo in Sankt Johann im Pongau, following the Euro Tour event. This competition will be open to pairs of players from countries not already selected and there is no limit on the number of pairs from anyone country although only one pair may take one of the two spots. This event will be operated by the EPBF.

PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool – European Qualifier Event Information

Dates: Sunday 3rd June 2012

Venue: Billiard Club Ballazzo, Färbergasse 45, Sankt Johann im Pongau, Austria

Format: Two-man teams representing European countries not already selected for the 2012 World Cup of Pool. All matches are scotch doubles, winner breaks, races to 8. Double elimination until the last four and then single elimination.

Spots: There are two (2) spots directly into the World Cup of Pool available. Please be aware that no two pairs representing the same countries can qualify.

Teams: The following European countries have been invited directly into the 2012 PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool therefore players from these countries are not eligible for this qualifying event:
