Pool – enjoyed by many, perfected by few.

The International Professional Pool Players Association (IPA) tour comes to Gloucester on the 23rd 24th and 25th March, showcasing perhaps the finest line up of 8 ball players ever seen at a single tournament, with no less than nine world championships between the sixteen combatants, plus numerous other high profile victories.

Sky Sports; Professional 8 Ball Pool MastersThe action at the Professional 8 Ball Pool Masters will be recorded for Sky Sports, starting with the draw on Friday evening (which is also a “meet the players”/autograph opportunity for fans), through to the final on Sunday and everything in between, while the live audience will be well catered for at the South West Snooker Academy, a prestigious venue with comfortable seating and quality catering facilities as well as perhaps the best set up seen for an 8 ball pool tournament.

With free entry on the Saturday for the earlier rounds it is certainly worth obtaining your tickets on line via www.ipapooltour.com, while even the semi final and final can be watched for £12 per adult (£7.00 children and senior citizens) per session, (£15/£9 for an all day pass) with a food and beverage discount voucher for local pool players or students, and £1.00 from each ticket sold going to Cancer Research.
Free car parking is widely available at and around the venue, which is also easily reached by public transport for those looking to avail themselves of the excellent bar facilities, and perhaps add a frame of pool or snooker to complete their day out!

Pool is a sport played regularly by over 5 million people in the United Kingdom alone, from casual players in the local pub to professional players at the zenith of the game and is beginning to attract the attention of the media with the new sharper image, sponsorship deals (tables (DPT), cloth (Strachan), clothing (Finicky Shirts and On Q Promotions), accommodation (Hilton Hotels) and balls (Aramith) for starters), and with it’s fast all action style, the sport appeals to everyone, either to play or to watch.

Why not come along and bring your friends for what promises to be an action packed weekend of competitive sport and at a price anyone can afford – food and beverages will be available throughout the weekend as will the pro shop, as well as pool and snooker tables for your entertainment, so don’t forget your cue!
