The GB 9 Ball Tour (GB9) and Universities Pool Council (UPC) are excited to announce a partnership agreement that will see the UPC’s annual Nine-Ball Pool Championships being hosted in the fantastic Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Telford from 2013 onwards.

As a result of this partnership the event will utilise GB9’s professional tables and equipment:

  • Professional standard tables
  • Simonis 860 Professional cloth
  • Aramith Pro Cup Balls
  • Tapped tables
  • Power Bridge

In the spirit of this partnership we are also delighted to announce that the winner of the Individual Championship will be awarded with full membership of GB9 for the following season worth £599. The event will also benefit from GB9’s commercial agreements with the host venue, including special accommodation rates and discounted bar prices.

Andy Warden, Chairperson of GB9, had this to say about the partnership, “The team at GB9 are proud to welcome UPC on board through this partnership agreement. The UPC plays a vital role in bringing new blood to the 9-ball discipline from the grass roots level. We are pleased to be able to provide the venue and equipment to take their annual event to a professional standard, which I’m sure all of the players involved will appreciate”

Oliver-John Dark, Executive Chair of UPC added, “This is fantastic news for student pool players all over the UK, and a major milestone for the event itself. The GB 9 Ball Tour has an unrivalled reputation and this development provides students with the chance to experience the UK’s finest 9-ball tournament conditions, which the sport of American pool can only benefit from in the years ahead, at all levels of the game. The UPC are thus excited and proud to announce this partnership and would like to thank the GB9 team and host venue, the superb Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Telford, in helping to make this happen.”
