Cues for CureThe $250-added 9-ball tourney on 9-foot tables drew 29 women with proceeds benefiting the South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The day was especially promising for Jennifer Page, as she played to win her first event on the regional Flamingo Billiard Tour (FBT), a win that has been long overdue. Page, hot off winning a qualifier spot for the APA US Amateur, played pretty strong throughout the day while taking advantage of her opponent’s mistakes along the way. Jennifer ultimately took the title by winning a payback match against Crystal McCormick, after losing a hill-hill match to McCormick earlier in the day. The final match was a painful final one for McCormick, as she watched the event slip away scratch after scratch. Coupled with Page’s powerful performance, the momentum was with Page as she prevailed and added her name to the list of “Cues for the Cure” winners.

Six additional players made it to the final single-elimination board along with Page and McCormick, including winner of the inaugural 2009 “Cues for the Cure” Stephanie Mitchell, 2011 “Cues for the Cure” winner Jeannie Seaver, newcomer Jennie Samuel, and FBT players Vanessa Seaver, Cassidy Mulligan and Alicia DeAbreu. DeAbreu went home thanks to Mulligan who later lost to Page in the semi-finals. Samuel lost to Mitchell. Jeannie Seaver’s pursuit of another “Cues for the Cure” trophy ended, courtesy of Page. McCormick closed the door on Vanessa Seaver in the quarterfinals, then ended Mitchell’s potential path to her second “Cues for the Cure” win to make the final match McCormick v. Page.

By virtue of Mary Ellen Clements being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2013 Pure X ACS Nationals at the Tropicana Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. This event was also a featured stop on the popular Flamingo Billiards Tour. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Pure X Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric and Nick Varner Signature Cases for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Pure X All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities and tour stop openings are still available for the 2012/2013 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.

The Tour moves north to Virginia Beach, VA, on Saturday, October 20, with a $500 added 9-Ball Tourney at Mike’s Break Room (Mike Wilson at 757-647-3421). Further information, entry details and schedules for the 2012/2013 Pure X Cues All American Tour are available at
